Hello FCC friends and family,

I just wanted to take a moment to say hello, we love you all and we miss seeing you in person! This has been such a strange season but it has also been good in many ways. I've been overwhelmed by the fast action and support of our entire leadership team here at the church. We made the significant shift to go online (something we had been talking about doing for more than a year) in just a matter of days. I'm so thankful to Pastor Josh and the entire team who has made this possible!

In reality, this has given us a wider reach as a church than we have ever had before. And there have been some encouraging stories of people coming to faith in distant places and also taking significant steps in their faith journey. It's been exciting! With that being said, we are eagerly awaiting the chance to meet together again in person, but I'll talk about that in a minute.

As we have adjusted to virtual church there have been a number of shifts that we have all had to make.  Please let me highlight the following:

  • We are currently in lawn mowing season and could use your help in mowing the church lawn. Can you help us out by signing up to mow the church lawn a few times this summer (maybe once a month)? It takes about an hour and is a great way to serve. Use the following link to signup for as many dates as you would like. After you've signed up we’ll get in touch with you about the details.  Thanks in advance! https://doodle.com/poll/gznhr2geaqret4gi

  • Giving: First of all, thank you for your ongoing faithfulness to the Lord! God is meeting the needs of His church as each of us are faithful. Some are mailing your gifts in which works great. 701 E Capitol Ave. If you want to drop an offering off, be sure to let us know before you come by. Also online giving is a quick easy way to give once or as a reoccurring gift. Check out the following link. https://www.eburgfcc.com/giving

  • Connection and Growth: We are looking to help create some small group connection points moving into the summer. Our ladies are encouraged to begin reaching out to others who they may want to connect with and we will begin providing resources for you to grow together. We also have a men’s small group that will be starting soon. Lastly, we are planning for a mid-week bible study to begin in the next couple of weeks, be watching for details. If you need help connecting in one of those ways, please let us know on our Connection Card at the following link. https://familychristiancenter.churchcenter.com/people/forms/121958

  • Remodel: I’m excited to say that we have begun our long awaited auditorium remodel project. The tattered carpet will be replaced, fresh paint and trim and a reconfigured stage among other things. You’ll notice some sneak peak images in our update video! As the project continues we’ll have opportunities for you to be a part. Painting and work parties will begin soon (socially distanced of course). If you would like to help, please let us know at the following link. https://familychristiancenter.churchcenter.com/people/forms/138913We have much of the money for this project set aside but still could use more finances for the second phase of this project (replacing dilapidated concrete and front entry). Thanks for your generosity in this way!

  • ReOpening:  We are planning to reopen for in person gatherings in our building sometime in July. You will hear a date just as soon as we can confirm it. We are currently fine tuning our ReOpening plans. Within the next two weeks we will have details of multiple “Church in the Park” gatherings as well as ideas for house church watch parties. As our remodel project progresses we will have further details. In the meantime we have created a survey to help us understand when and how you will be comfortable returning to in person gatherings. Would you please take 2 minutes to fill out this survey?  It will be very helpful to us. https://familychristiancenter.churchcenter.com/people/forms/136500

  • Ongoing Streaming: As we begin to meet together in person again we want you to know that the streaming of our services will still be available. We have begun purchasing some of the equipment needed to make this happen effectively. This will enable all FCCer’s to return in a timeframe that you are comfortable with and also continuing our new reach into the virtual world.

  • ReLaunch: We are currently praying and planning for a full ReLaunch as a church this September. Our heart is to be a church that is fully effective in the mission of God to reach lost people and grow believers. As we ReLaunch in September we will be forming everything we do around that mission. Please pray with us about this important step.

In conclusion, thank you for your prayers and faithfulness during these trying times. Our hope is that each person will continue to grow and be encouraged despite different methods and challenging times. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Thanks for taking an active part by filling out the appropriate forms and surveys.

May God bless each of you and your families.
